Abstract

        This article examines U.S. Vice Presidents Nixon's visit to Benghazi and his meeting with king Idris regarding complications Libyan American negotiations over Wheelus base. as well examines the role of this visit to push the negotiations, which had faces several challenges leaded to stop. the article aims to re-explore, for first time, this visit through archival material of American legation that archived in department states archives. The study follows the historical narrative approach, which relies on narrating events within their historical context, then comparing and analyzing them based on documentary data for concluding the minimum of historical truth
