Abstract

This study aims to identify the relationship between life satisfaction and self-esteem among a sample of Tobruk University students. According to some variables, the random sample consisted of (110) male and female students from some colleges of Tobruk University, where two scales were applied: the first to measure life satisfaction, and the second to measure self-esteem. The results of the study showed a level of life satisfaction, as well as a high level of self-esteem among students. It also became clear that there were no differences between males and females in life satisfaction and self-esteem. There was no difference between second-year and fourth-year students in life satisfaction and self-esteem. There was also no difference due to the type of scientific specialization in both life satisfaction and self-esteem. It was also found that there was a positive relationship between life satisfaction and self-esteem among Tobruk University students. The study indicated the possibility of prediction. It is possible to predict life satisfaction (the independent variable) by students' grades on (the dependent variable) self-esteem
