The difficulties faced by the psychological counselor in public schools in the city of Derna

Abstract
The main purpose of the study is to identify the nature of the most common difficulties faced the psychological counselors while performing their job in public schools. The study sample included (31) female of psychological counselors in schools affiliated to the Ministry of Education in Derna city. For collecting data, the scale of difficulties facing the psychological counselors was used to measure the common difficulties for counselors in the schools. The results of the study concluded that there is several of difficulties that hamper the success of the work of the psychological counselor at schools where the difficulties related to the administrative aspects were the most common difficulties, while the difficulties related to training and rehabilitation came in the second place, and those related to the personal difficulties related to the counselor herself came in the third place, while the difficulties related to the parents of the students did not have a significant impact on the work of the psychological counselor. The results also showed that the counselor's years of experience and the school stage in which she works were not significant in influencing the level of difficulties that the counselor faces. These results, in turn, indicated many important educational implications and applications at the level of school administrative and professional practice to activate and develop the role of the school psychological counselor, which results in leaving the study with procedural recommendations in this field.
