
The Faculty of Economics and Accounting in Murzuq organizes a scientific seminar on the Libyan economic crisis
The Faculty of Economics and Accounting in Murzuq organized a scientific seminar titled "The Libyan Economic Crisis: Causes and Suggestions for Overcoming the Crisis" on Wednesday morning, April 23, 2025, attended by a distinguished group of academic and official figures.
The seminar was graced by the presence of Professor. Mahdi Milad Al-Jadi, President of Fezzan University; Professor. Ibrahim Mahdi Ahmed, Vice President of the University for Academic Affairs, and Professor. Youssef Mammadou Hamidi, Dean of the organizing faculty, along with several deans of faculties, directors of departments and centers at the university, and a group of faculty members and students. Local officials also participated in the seminar, including the Mayor of Murzuq, the Mayor of Traghen, the Mayor of Wadi Itba, a representative from the Murzuq Security Directorate accompanied by several officers from the directorate, and the Director of the Murzuq Office of the Audit Bureau.
The seminar commenced with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem, after which the scientific sessions began, covering three main themes:
1. The real causes of the crisis facing the Libyan economy.
2. Discussion of the measures proposed by the Central Bank of Libya to alleviate the severity of the crisis.
3. Presentation of practical proposals to rescue the national economy from its current crisis.
The seminar was enriched by valuable contributions from specialists in the economic field, both from within Libya and abroad, via Google Meet, reflecting the faculty's commitment to involving various perspectives and expertise in discussing vital national issues.
This seminar is part of the university's efforts to enhance its research and community role and contribute to providing realistic solutions to the urgent economic issues facing the country.
