Fezzan University participates in a workshop regarding smart university card applications.

● On the morning of Monday, July 22, 2025, Fezzan University participated in a workshop regarding the applications of the smart university card, held at Corinthia Hotel in the capital, Tripoli. The workshop was organized and supervised by the Information and Documentation Center of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in collaboration with Optimal Solutions for Information and Smart Communication Technology.
● Fezzan University was represented at this workshop by:
Mr. Bashir Ali Bashir, the university's registrar; Mr. Fathi Suleiman Ahmed, the director of the Office of Studies and Examinations; and Mr. Mohammed Matouq, the director of the Information and Documentation Center.
● The university representatives followed
the use of the smart university card as a modern technology aimed at enhancing the services provided to students, faculty members, and staff. They also showcased pioneering technological experiences in this field, which included the use of the card for the following purposes:
- Electronic payment of university fees.
- Secure access to university facilities.
- Utilization of libraries and other university services.
- Identity verification within the campus.
● For their part, the representatives of Fezzan University emphasized to the participants during the workshop the importance of holding such workshops that support digital transformation in Libyan universities and enhance the efficiency of university administration by employing artificial intelligence technologies and electronic services.
● It is worth noting that the participation of the university representatives aligns with the university leadership's commitment to keeping up with modern technological developments and improving the digital infrastructure to enhance the quality of educational and administrative services provided to students and academic staff.
