
Fezzan University and Wadi Utbah municipality discuss aspects of joint cooperation
Wadi Itba – In an atmosphere characterized by warmth and collaboration, Mr. Saidi Gezo, the Mayor of Wadi Itba, welcomed Prof. Mahdi Milad Al-Jadi, the President of Fezzan University, this Thursday morning, August 14, 2025, in the presence of members of the municipal council. The meeting aimed to enhance the partnership between the two parties and support higher education institutions within the municipality's jurisdiction.
During the meeting, attendees discussed several important issues, primarily the challenges faced by the colleges of Fezzan University located within the municipality. Practical proposals were put forward to address these challenges and improve the academic work environment.
The discussion also included the university's contribution to enhancing the skills of the municipality's human resources through specialized training and qualification programs, as well as providing technical consultations to resolve some issues facing the education and health sectors in the municipality.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to organize joint scientific seminars addressing certain environmental problems, in coordination with other municipalities in Murzuq Basin, with the aim of finding scientific and sustainable solutions that enhance the quality of life in the region.
At the end of the meeting, the Mayor emphasized the importance of continued coordination and communication between the university and the municipality, praising the academic and scientific role that Fezzan University plays in serving the community. The university president expressed the institution's readiness to leverage its scientific and research capabilities to support local development efforts.
