Speech of the President of the Conference:

Esteemed attendees, today’s conference is one of the days that will be added to the scientific achievements of the Faculty of Economics and Accounting in the city of Murzuq; a faculty that has been in existence for over 30 years now.
By the grace of God and His guidance, the Faculty of Economics and Accounting has managed over the years to graduate many students in the fields of management, accounting, and finance, with its graduates holding high-level positions in various ministries, agencies, institutions, and companies both within the country and abroad.
The responsibility of Fezzan University towards the local and civil community is a significant one, and this responsibility is placed at the forefront of the university's priorities. The university has taken upon itself the gradual return of the Faculty of Economics and Accounting in the city of Murzuq after the city witnessed many conflicts and disputes in 2019, to restore the faculty to its former glory, to open its classrooms to students, and to host today this significant scientific event, which is the second scientific conference for the development of accounting, administrative, and financial sciences and their impact on sustainable development and technology.
It is with great joy and happiness that I stand before you today in this very place, which witnessed the inaugural launch of the first international scientific conference for the development of accounting, addressing the challenges of reality and aspirations on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.
This scientific conference, in itself, is a consolidation of the university's principles, efforts, goals, vision, and mission.

Fezzan University is an open institution that collaborates with all organizations, bodies, and companies in light of the redevelopment and reconstruction achieved in the city of Murzuq, particularly in the southern region in general. The pace of security, safety, and stability has returned, thanks to Allah Almighty and His guidance first and foremost, and secondly, due to the leadership of the General Command of the Libyan Armed Forces, alongside the significant and prominent role played by Murzuq Security Directorate in regulating the daily life of citizens. I must also commend the substantial efforts made by, and still being made by, the Development and Reconstruction Fund for Libya in the south, which have enabled us, through collective efforts, to organize this conference.

Ladies and gentlemen, the role of accounting and administrative sciences in the university's faculties is crucial in enhancing performance and developing good governance, as well as promoting the achievement of sustainable development goals related to technology and its sciences that the world is witnessing today.
This scientific conference raises an important scientific question: "How can accounting, administrative, and financial sciences keep pace with technological developments in a way that contributes to achieving sustainable development goals?" There is no doubt that we will find a satisfactory answer in the presentation of the research papers that will be delivered later in the sessions of this conference.
Our country is currently facing economic, social, and developmental challenges that have led to the weakening of institutions and resources. In this context, the role of accounting, administrative, and financial sciences, along with good governance, is essential in finding appropriate scientific solutions to these challenges.
This conference aims to enhance the research relationship between university faculty members, students, and researchers interested in this field, specifically in the areas of accounting, finance, and business.

Allow me at the end of my speech to extend my utmost gratitude, appreciation, and respect to the Municipal Council of Murzuq for the efforts they have made for this conference, which deserve recognition.
